DD1101 - face practices
ORIGINAL POST DATE: OCTOBER 7TH, 2012
First batch of practices in facial proportions. I tried to spice up the varety in face types and sex, but unfortunately a lot of the characters I have are androdynous physically, so it was harder to really convey gender without any hints outside of the face, I think. But still, here are some fun doodles!
Here is a sketch of me as deputy Thomas MacLaine from Deadly Premoniton. I said that it was my favourite game, and I decided to stick to my guns with drawing myself in that universe. Part of the point of the characters in the game is that, well, everyone appears so ordinary on the outside, but they hold dark secrets underneath that exterior. Thomas is one of them. I thought I might as well draw myself as my favourite character from the game--as well as my favourie character in any game I've ever played--whom I relate to greatly: a shy, loving, honest, gender-confused, and strong person. Or, at least, he's reatable by my interpretation, because I know others see him differently, in a more negative light. Maybe it's bias on my part that I see him as positive and brave, but I'm just rambling!
Back on track, but for a few obvious reasons, I'll redraw this bust.
It also may be obvious that I really love drawing faces! And I'm really looking forward to the Deadly Premonition Director's Cut!
Gonna post the following week's work now!
